University College Dublin (UCD) has been recognised as Ireland's most sustainable university, ranking 49th worldwide in the 2025 QS World University Rankings for Sustainability.
The latest results place UCD among the global leaders for environmental and social impact, making it the only Irish institution in the top 100. Within Europe, UCD secured an impressive 28th position out of 556 institutions.
This marks the third consecutive year of improvement for UCD in the sustainability rankings, rising from 50th globally last year. The university’s progress highlights its commitment to tackling environmental, social, and governance (ESG) challenges. UCD's strongest performance was in Social Impact, with its Equality indicator ranked 10th globally. Other notable indicators include Environmental Research (69th) and Health & Wellbeing (65th).
