Trinity College Dublin has been ranked as the 81st best university in the world following the publication of the QS World University Rankings 2024.
The University rose significantly from 98th in the 2023 edition, cementing its place as Ireland's leading university.
Trinity’s Provost, Dr Linda Doyle, said: “Rankings don’t reflect the full breadth of all the important things we do, and we have lots more to be proud of in Trinity. Still, this outcome is good news for us. I want to thank everyone in Trinity for the dedication and hard work that has contributed to this significant jump."
The QS World University Rankings are the most used global rankings and are a measure of a university’s global reputation. For 2024, QS has implemented an enhanced methodology, introducing three new metrics; Sustainability, Employment Outcomes and International Research Network, as well as adjusting the weighting of existing indicators, including Academic Reputation, Employer Reputation, and Faculty Student Ratio.
