A Politics degree will provide students with an understanding of the key dynamics of different political systems around the world, how governments deal with crisis, debt, human right and the nature of society. Modules will include international relations, global histories and modern political thought. Students of Politics will learn about the ethical and empirical questions relating to the roles and limits to state power, obligations of a nation to other countries and differences in political institutions and cultures in an international system.
Politics graduates work in local, national and international government as well as a wide range of other professions in sectors such as media, teaching, finance and not for profit.
Entry requirements vary for each Irish university, but Indian students will need an IELTS score of 6.5 overall, no lower than 6.0 in each component, and an International Baccalaureate score of 34 points.
